The Challenge
A consulting firm engaged BottomLine Group to identify and drive tangible Travel category savings for one of its top clients.

The client was a global technology company, located in sixteen markets around the world, with travel-related spending in excess of $45M per annum and a diverse and demanding traveller population. The client was under considerable shareholder pressure and was seeking both short term and sustainable savings. The consulting firm was under pressure to deliver but was falling short on the Travel category and as such, reached out to BottomLine Group to provide Travel category expertise.

The Approach
BottomLine Group, working closely with the lead consulting company and the end client, was able to leverage its category experts and a proprietary diagnostic model to elevate the identified savings by 400% from the original savings estimate. The solution went beyond policy-oriented savings and identified further savings by increasing program effectiveness through demand management, sourcing, supplier optimization, and process improvement. BottomLine Group has since been used as a key source in driving execution of the identified opportunities.

The Result: 14-25% in Travel Expense Savings
The calculated benefit of the program improvements is estimated at a potential of 14% to 25% reduction in travel spend.
